Coat Drives are a team sport

In partnership with We ❤️ NYC and all the NYC sports teams and leagues, New York Cares distributed 73,111 coats to New Yorkers during the 2023-2024 winter season.

Early in the summer, our goal was to make the Coat Drive as widespread as possible by leaning on our historical symbol of the shivering Lady Liberty. We wanted to plaster her on everything, so that the Coat Drive can become something you immediately recognize as you walk by.

GALA

We celebrated 35 years of the Coat Drive at our 2023 Winter Gala. I designed the program and signage and gave direction on the lighting of the space. The Gala was held at Cipriani’s 42nd Street.

Photography

After collecting new and used coats, the coats are distributed to schools and communities across the five boroughs. Distributions included various schools and public distributions in collaboration with Together We Can, the Amazin’ Mets, and Assemblyperson Joyner.
